At Plumbsense, we believe in plumbing the sensible way and providing a friendly and efficient service.   This principle applies from the moment you first contact us for a quotation through to job completion.  We believe that it is important to:


1. RESPOND TO MESSAGES PROMPTLY

E-mail and telephone messages are generally responded to the same day (Monday to Saturday).

 

2. VISIT THE SITE BEFORE QUOTING

All straight-forward work can be quoted for over the telephone.  For all other jobs, we would prefer to visit the site first in order to provide a more accurate quotation.

 

3. PROVIDE A FREE QUOTATION

We will provide you with a quotation including, where appropriate, a breakdown of the costs, anticipated timings, possible start date and any anticipated interruption to the household water supply together with any notes relevant to the job itself.

 

4. PROVIDE QUOTATIONS PROMPTLY

Basic quotations will normally be provided within 2 working days of the site visit, more complex quotations may take a week or so.

Our quotations shall, unless otherwise stated, be valid for 6 months from the date of the quotation to the day we commence work.

 

5. PROVIDE PRECISE APPOINTMENTS

We do not believe in "morning" and "afternoon" appointments unless otherwise agreed.  Instead, we will provide you with an actual time when you can expect us to arrive.

 

6. ARRIVE ON TIME

Punctuality and reliability are both enormously important to us.  We aim to arrive at all appointments precisely on the agreed date and time.  On the rare occasion that we are running late, we will always phone you.

 

7. WORK IN A SAFE MANNER

All work is carried out in conjunction with Health & Safety regulations.  We will wear protective clothing when necessary.  It is a health & safety requirement that we wear safety shoes at all times to afford our feet some protection, though we can wear shoe coverings if required.

 

8. RESPECT THE CLIENT'S PREMISES

We will respect your home / office environment, fittings and furniture.  Carpets and other floorings shall be protected around the area in which we are working.

 

9. KEEP THE CLIENT INFORMED

On medium to large scale projects we will advise you, where appropriate, of our progress at key stages.  Delays can arise when unforeseen problems occur but we will work quickly and efficiently to overcome these issues.

 

10. WORK TO A HIGH STANDARD

We will not cut corners.  We will not use materials or components which we believe to be unsatisfactory.  All work will be carried out properly and professionally.  This may mean that our prices are not always competitive with the lower end of the market.

 

11. COMPLETE THE JOB LAWFULLY

All work is carried out according to the appropriate current regulations and requirements.  We will not engage in work which could be deemed to be unlawful or dangerous or will not comply with current regulations.  Old fittings and appliances are disposed of lawfully.

 

12. ADHERE TO THE BUDGET

The project will be completed within the agreed budget.  On the rare occasion when something unexpected crops up, we shall discuss this with you before proceeding.  Additional requirements requested after the quotation has been provided will be added to the final invoice.

 

When charging by the hour, our aim is to complete the job as efficiently as possibly.

 

Sometimes we may need to pop out to buy a part.  If this is a part that we would usually carry but have none in stock, then we will not charge for the time spent off-site.  If, however, we need to find a specialist part for the job which we would not usually carry, then this time may be included in the final invoice.

 

13. CHECK FITTINGS FOR WATER TIGHTNESS

All new pipes, connections, fittings and appliances will be inspected to ensure that they are water tight and free from leakage.

 

14. LEAVE THE PREMISES CLEAN AND TIDY

At the end of each day and on completion of the work, we will remove our tools and equipment from the site (unless otherwise agreed) and clean the areas in which we have been working.  We aim to leave the site in as clean a condition as when we found it.

 

15. DEMONSTRATE NEW APPLIANCES OR REPAIRS

If you have had a new appliance installed, then we will offer a demonstration of how it operates.  If we have repaired an appliance or fitting, we will show you its correct working operation.  We will leave user manuals when appropriate.

 

16. RESPOND TO PROBLEMS PROMPTLY

If we have followed the above principles, then it is unlikely that you will experience any problems after we have left.  In the event that you have the need to contact us regarding any element of our work, then we aim to respond quickly and appropriately.

 

17. GUARANTEE OUR WORKMANSHIP

We believe in the quality of our workmanship so much that we will guarantee our workmanship for a period of 2 years.  Materials will be guaranteed under the manufacturer's warranty as we do not provide any separate guarantee for materials provided.  This does not affect your statutory rights.
